└──────── Blue Wave / QWK offline mail door for Telegard v2.99 ────────┘
INTRODUCTION
TGWave is a Blue Wave and QWK compatible offline mail door for Telegard
versions 3.00 and later. TGWave has been successfully tested with
Telegard v2.99 gamma-1 through Telegard v2.99 gamma-3, but may be
incompatible with later versions.
This file is a quick documentation of the TGWave install process. The
install program is pretty straight forward and easy to use, and new
installations do not require you to do anything special. Since this is
the first release of TGWave, you should not need to use the upgrade
function unless some part of the program's files becomes damaged or
deleted and you need to re-install it.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
(1) Create a temporary directory anywhere on your hard drive, and
extract the TGWAV112.ZIP archive into this directory. Ensure that
the following files are present:
FILE_ID.DIZ ┬ Product description information
DESC.SDI ┘
INSTALL.EXE - TGWave installation program
INSTALL.TGW - TGWave installation archive
INSTALL.DOC - TGWave installation documentation
WHATSNEW.112 - What's new in this version
If all of these files do not exist in the archive, then your copy of
TGWave is not the original distribution archive, and has been
modified. If this is the case, we suggest obtaining a new copy, and
scanning your system for viruses just to make sure.
(2) Change to the directory you extracted the distribution archive to in
step #1, and Type "INSTALL.EXE" to run the install program.
(3) Select "New Installation" if this is the first time you've setup
TGWave on your system. If you are upgrading from a previous
version, or re-installing your current copy, select "Upgrade", and
INSTALL will only overwrite TGWave's executables, samples, and
documentation, but not any of it's data files.
********************************************************************
IF YOU ARE UPGRADING FROM A PREVIOUS VERSION OF TGWAVE, MAKE SURE
YOU READ THE WHATSNEW.<ver#> FILE BEFORE CONTINUING!
********************************************************************
(4) If you wish to install TGWave in a directory other than the default
of "C:\TGWAVE\", enter the directory.
(5) Select "The above paths are acceptable". INSTALL will auto-
matically unpack TGWave's data files, and configure the default
TGWave setup for you.
The installation process is now complete. You should now refer to
TGWAVE.DOC in the C:\TGWAVE\DOCS\ directory for information on how to
set up TGWave in Telegard so that your users can access the BBS, and for
documentation of TGWSETUP, TGWave's setup program, which you can use to
configure TGWave to suit your preferences.
